Hey, folks,
I found this nebula difficult to image from the 'burbs, though this image is just taken through an LPR filter. The nebula is found more or less within the boundaries of the Hyades. The cool thing is that the area harbors Herbig-Haro objects. I'm set to revisit the place next fall when it is well-placed from my yard again. Perhaps an h-alpha filter next time.

this is an extremely faint object. I have observed this once visually with my 22" Dob.
My notes were as follows: At 100x, the few field stars outside Sharpless 239 in Taurus can be held steadily. With field sweeping and without filter, the nebula can be seen as a very weak, extended glow without internal structure, size and position matching the DSS print.

Hi Val,
in my memories the Sh was not extremely hard to see with a 20". I could easily hold it with averted vision and 5,6mm AP. Also hints of detail could be seen with the 20" under fairly good bu not perfect skies.

Thanks for the feedback, Reiner! Yes, those are great images! I had seen Mr. Block's but not the other. In fact, that is partly how I figured out what I was looking at. Thanks. My image was taken with a 10" f/4.7. Need darker skies, I guess. Val
