Hi
I'm sorry it's almost like I vanished from the face of the earth, but the last three months have been disconnected from astronomy and spent on other things including work and the like.
I'm at Okie Tex star party. Is anyone else around? To share coordinates, I'm on the north-western end of the eastern observing field.
I had a look at Maffei-II with my 18" last night and finally, I confirm observation with my scope. (I think we'd seen it in Jimi's 48" earlier). To continue in the department of obscured galaxies of the Maffei group, I tried for Dwingeloo 1 but failed. I could only see the star flanking the core. If anyone has some tips on how to detect Dwingeloo 1 in 18"-like apertures, please do share them.
Thank you.
Regards
Akarsh
Struggling to stay awake at Okie-Tex.
