TYPE PEC Seyfert 2 Galaxy
UGC 4332 is a very peculiar galaxy. There has been some debate as to what it is. Some thought that it was a spiral galaxy about to merge with a elliptical galaxy. Some thought that it was like the radio galaxy Centaurus A (NGC 5128). Astronomers now think that it is just a SB with a large core bulge and a AGN.
I have viewed it many times and the neat thing is how it is framed by three equally bright stars. I wounder what the smallest scope is that can see the twisted dust lane? There are lots of other galaxies in the area so be sure to check them out too.
