I like to scan the sky, especially near the "classics" and I was just observing near M106, when I found an IFN. I had no idea that there might be something there and the next day, while carefully looking through sketches on Mel Bartels website, I found a sketch with the same IFN.
Band of light, between stars (top) detected by direct vision, was quite obvious. Dust lane going under the galaxy, was seen by averted vision and moving of the scope.
