Last nights I tried a exotic galaxy chain with my "grab and go 14,5" telescope" - VV 158 (Rose 16)

The chain is relative long (around 6') and has 4 members between 15,4bmag and 16,5bmag (LEDA). All members could been detected without problems with 283x and NELM around 6,5mag. The two brightest members PGC 49587 (SE end) and PGC 49561 (NW end) are bright enough to see with direct vision, PGC 49578 and PGC 49575 could been hold with averted vision.

Perhaps a interesting goal apart from the HCG, SHK or Arp chains.

The chain could been found at RA 13 56 29, DEC +28 31 (Canis Venatici)

Looks like a fun line to track down, thanks. In the bigger dobs I bet the next galaxy along the line off in the WNW direction may also show up as a tiny object elongated along the same line as the chain. MegaStar does not label it but the RealSky DSS shows it easily at 13 56 12 +28 33 29 right along the same chain and average spacing of the others.
