Hello All,
Has anyone tried to observe the SN remnant (Keplers from 1604) in Ophiuchus? I've put that on my summer "to do" list but would love to hear about your experiences.

I have never tried it. It looks fairly faint in a rich star field on the PanSTARRS image. I will put it on my todo list and report back.

Thanks Jimi.... If you get there before I do I'd like to know any success and if it responded well to any filters. Looks like the brighter "knots" may respond to an O III if I'm reading the PK catalog correctly. I live in the east and real dark skies > 21.5 SQM are 2 1/2 hrs away. I will be using a 22" dob.
Matt
