Segner's Wheel is another galaxy pair in interaction with dual nuclie. It is named by Vorontsov-Velyamiov after Johann Segner's 18th century's water turbine invention. It looks like a lawn sprinkler.

I have looked at this unusual object several times this dark period. It appears smallish in the eyepiece but the Two nuclei really jump out at you. The Nuclei of the North galaxy appears to be a little brighter. The South tidal tail is seen but the North tail is only seen near the core. I did a quick drawing at the eyepiece last night at 488X and it is a fair representation of what I could see. I really get a kick seeing the two cores like two eye's looking at you.

Be sure to see if you can catch the two nearby PGC galaxies as a bonus. One PGC 1906819 is MAG V 15.9 from the SDSS photometry and the other PGC 3830340 is MAG V 16.1 from the SDSS.
Check out this unusual pair and see if you can see the two nuclie and as always !!!!
