I can contribute a 16" drawing of NGC 4536 from 2009 (196x, 23' field). I didn't find the spiral structure to be difficult in the 16" scope. I'm sure it can be seen with smaller apertures as well....
Hi all,
5 Editions for the Texas Star Party were added to the Clear Skies Observing Guides collection:

Hey all deep sky hounds!
I just received my copies of the 3-volume set personally sent to me by Larry Mitchell. Outstanding set of books! Great for observers of all levels.
If you don't know...
My two observations were made 39 years ago with an early 13.1" Coulter Odyssey (blue sonotube). The planetary itself was unremarkable (guesstimated at mag 14.5-15.0), but the location 20' S of NGC...
These large open clusters truly shine in a small telescope and a wide field. I particularly like M 48 because there is a more or less heart shaped star chain around the denser central part. It is...

IC 443 G189.1+30 jelly Fish Nebula
During the past years, I have been six times observing this nebula. The first time through the 6" F/5 achro at the magnification of 30x and 23x (Leica...
My observation of the planetary nebula with my 20" dob is in the Abell 1656 page that you already linked:
I located the planetary nebula at 320x and it was visible as a faint star. When I used my...
While in the area the other night, I glanced at IC 443 with my 6-inch reflector and an NPB filter. Its thick northeast arc was easily visible since the skies were running 21.55 mpsas. I've made a...
Berenice's Hair. Strange name for a constellation.
I mean, there's plenty out there to frown upon. Not the mythological persons and creatures, or constellations named for animals, of course... but...
